Digicel launches ‘Free after 5′

Digicel has announced its ‘Free after 5’ text promotion in keeping with its commitment to boost cellular service in Guyana.

In a press release the company said with the realisation of the long-awaited SMS Interconnect Agreement between it and GT&T on June 1 it “immediately seized the opportunity to provide its customers with a better value to text promotion.” The promotion entitles subscribers to 15 free text messages after sending five texts to any local or international network. The company said too all text messages cost $10.

Digicel Guyana CEO Gregory Dean said, “Despite the many challengers we faced in reaching this agreement, we are happy to finally offer our customers and those with the other network a service enjoyed by cellular users throughout the world.” He also said the Agreement has served to further Digicel’s commitment to offering its subscribers quality service on par with the international community.
