TCL Guyana Inc (TGI) is hosting seminars for cement inspectors, vendors, block makers and construction workers in keeping with its commitment to provide “quality building investments” in Guyana.

In a press release TGI Plant Manager Mark Bender said the seminars are an integral part of its efforts to boost the country’s infrastructure by improving the standards of cement construction. Cement Technologist Danny Jairam of Etercnoc in Trinidad and Tobago is expected to make presentations on the effective use of cement.

TGI said the first workshop was held on Wednesday in Berbice for cement vendors. Yesterday and Thursday the Guyana National Bureau of Standards partnered with it to host sessions for inspectors, block makers and construction workers.

TGI said too it is taking its “cement tent” to Berbice today where builders, homeowners and aspiring homeowners will be given a chance to learn more about cement mixing. Persons will also be given a chance to participate in demonstrations. This session will be held at the Area H Cricket Ground in Rose Hall from 10 am. The company said previously it had hosted “tents” at Parfait Harmonie and Diamond.
