The leader of the Guyana Justices of the Peace (JP) Association said after a year of laying the groundwork it now has a plan in place which can only be realised with members’ support.

In a press release leader Hermon Bholaisingh said when he assumed leadership of the group about a year ago it was “in a sorry state of dormancy.” He said “little successes” the group has achieved since then have been at great personal sacrifices.

Bholaisingh said too the group has had to tackle bureaucratic control and red tape, public criticism without merit, opportunism and a hangers-on attitude from some JPs and COAs. He said now that the foundation has been laid and a plan set by the management committee he is urging those in authority to respond to the call of duty.
