Conductor shot by ‘passenger’

A route 42 minibus conductor was last evening rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) after being shot by a passenger, during a robbery attempt.
The injured man is 36-year-old Anthony Singh, who was shot in his leg and abdomen on Princes Street, sometime after 7 o’clock. He was at the time the conductor on a minibus which was plying the Land of Canaan-Georgetown route
According to reports, the bus stopped to drop off a passenger on Princes Street, and as this passenger disembarked he attempted to rob Singh of the money in his hand. During the struggle to get the money the passenger pulled out a gun and shot Singh in his leg and hand.
The suspect escaped.
