The manager and part owner of Survival Supermarket was yesterday placed on a bond to keep the peace for two years and ordered to pay $10,000 court costs when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer the charge of assault causing actual bodily harm.
It is alleged that on June 11 at Georgetown, Parshuram Arjune, of 10 Vlissengen Road assaulted Ravina Arjune so as to cause her actual bodily harm.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge of assaulting the virtual complainant (VC) who is his wife when it was read to him by the Acting Chief Magistrate.

Attorney-at-law Tanya Warren who represented the defendant made an application for  bail to be granted in a reasonable sum on the grounds that her client poses no risk of flight, has a fixed place of abode and has been cooperating with the police in their investigations.

Warren added also that the defendant and the VC had resolved their differences.  The matter was then called to the bench and a lengthy discussion ensued.
