Woman denies trafficking in ganja on highway

A woman was yesterday granted $200,000 bail in the High Court after she had been remanded to prison by  Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on the charge of trafficking in narcotics.

It is alleged that on June 18 on the Linden-Soesdyke Highway, Susan Hubbard had in her possession 250 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

Hubbard pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to her by the Magistrate.
She was subsequently remanded to prison until June 24.

Attorney-at-law Adrian Thompson who represented the defendant later made a bail application to the High Court and was successful in obtaining bail for his client in the sum of $200,000.
