Survival Supermarket robbed of $1.7M

Two armed men on Saturday night robbed a Survival Supermarket clerk of a bag containing some $1.7 million.

Police in a release yesterday said they are investigating the robbery which occurred at around 8.15 pm at the supermarket’s wholesale outlet on Vlissengen Road during which sales clerk Sewantie Khaderu was attacked and robbed by two men armed with guns.

The release said that the woman was in possession of the bag with the money and she was about to enter a motor vehicle when she was confronted by the men who took away the bag and escaped in a waiting car.
