A Diamond, East Bank Demerara couple and their tenant were terrorised and robbed of almost $500,000, jewellery and two cellular phone by three men armed with guns.

According to a police press release,  at around 23:30 hrs on Sunday, Motielall Beharry along with his wife and their tenant Mahadeo Lall were about to enter their home when they were confronted by the men who held them at gunpoint and took away a quantity of jewellery, $75,000, US$2,000 and two cell phones and escaped.

“During the incident Motielall Beharry was struck about his body with the firearms by the men who discharged two rounds into the air while making their escape,” the release said.

Motielall was treated at the Diamond Diagnostic Centre and sent away.
