MEXICO CITY, (Reuters) – Mexican President Felipe  Calderon’s National Action Party was headed for defeat at  mid-term elections for Congress yesterday, according to an exit  poll broadcast by the Televisa network.

Calderon’s conservative party was on 29 percent of the  vote, way behind the opposition Institutional Revolutionary  Party, which had 40 percent, the station said.

The results were the same as a separate exit poll published  by the Milenio TV channel.
