Dass told this newspaper yesterday that the officials contacted him after noticing the article in Saturday’s issue of this newspaper. He said the officials informed him that an arrangement will be discussed with him as regards assistance which will be provided to him and his four sons. He said another relative expressed her willingness to assist him with keeping the children while he goes to work at the Stabroek Market area where he works as a vendor. Dass said he will do his utmost where caring for his young children is concerned.

This newspaper had reported on Saturday of the man’s plight following the death of his wife. He related that his wife was at home most of the time and only suffered from low blood pressure, hence, her sudden death leaving him shocked.

The woman will be laid to rest on Wednesday at the Good Hope cemetery on the East Coast of Demerara.
