Two held in Turkeyen gun find

Two men have been arrested following the discovery of an unlicensed firearm and a round of matching ammunition.

Police in a press release last evening said a search conducted on a house at ‘D’ Field, South Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara at approximately 10.30 am yesterday led to the discovery of an unlicensed .38 pistol and a round of ammunition for it.

The men were taken into police custody following the discovery and are assisting with investigations.
