A man whose dog bit a woman was yesterday placed on $30,000 bail when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Stanley Prashad, 60, a mechanic of 351 Sachi Bazaar Street, Prashad Nagar pleaded guilty to the charge of suffering ferocious dog being un-muzzled to cause injury when it was read to him by the Acting Chief Magistrate.

On July 29 at Georgetown, Prashad, being the owner of a ferocious dog being un-muzzled to cause injury to Juliana Veiga.
Attorney-at-Law Deborah Kumar who represented the defendant told the court that the virtual complainant (VC) did not wish to proceed with the matter.

According to Kumar, her client’s dog had gotten out of its yard and attacked the VC biting her in the process.

The matter was called to the bench and a lengthy discussion ensued.
