Brushe Dam boy injured in accident

A 13-year-old boy of Brushe Dam, Buxton was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital yesterday after he was knocked down by a car on the Railway embankment near Company Path Road, Buxton yesterday morning.

Speaking at the hospital the lad’s uncle, Colin Hope told Stabroek News that his nephew, Michael Hope, was riding a bicycle close to the junction of Company Path Road and the embankment when he was struck down by a car which was reportedly speeding.

He said his nephew was visiting a relative at the time. He said the boy’s condition is serious, noting that the lad broke both of his legs and sustained injuries to his head.

The lad’s condition was listed as stable.
