Woman denies trafficking in cocaine at airport

A woman accused of having a quantity of cocaine in her possession was yesterday remanded to prison when she appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on July 27 at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Julian Warner had in her possession in excess of 2 grams of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Warner pleaded not guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking when it was read to her by the magistrate.
The prosecution asked that bail be denied and the matter  be transferred to the Providence Magistrate’s Court for reports.

The unrepresented Warner was later remanded to prison. Her matter was transferred to the Providence Magistrate’s Court for August 12.
