A man who allegedly had carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 15 was on Thursday remanded to prison when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on July 18 at Port Kaituma, Komal Peters had carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 15.
Peters was not required to plead to the indictable charge when it was read to him by the acting chief magistrate.
The matter was called to the bench and a lengthy discussion ensued.

The defendant was later remanded to prison. His matter was transferred to the Port Kaituma Magistrate’s Court for August 5.
