The Indian Arrival Committee (IAC) has extended greetings to the entire nation, especially citizens of African descent on the occasion of the 171st Emancipation Anniversary.

The IAC in a special message declared that “Emancipation marks the genesis of subsequent freedoms which is celebrated on August 1.”

The organization said also that it recognizes the immense and important endeavours made by persons of African origin in all fields to develop Guyana, and noted that its aim is to promote peaceful and harmonious relations with all ethnic and cultural groups in Guyana.
