Woman, 52, charged with forging travel document

A 52-year-old woman was yesterday placed on bail in the sum of $200,000 when she appeared before Magistrate Priya Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer to two counts of forgery.

It is alleged that between March 9 and June 19 at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Bernadette Price of 66 Bent Street,  Georgetown, with intent to defraud, conspired with a person or persons to forge one Inter-Caribbean travel document, purporting to show that it was issued to her by the Central Immigration Office.

The unemployed defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to her.

Price was later placed on $100,000 bail on each count and her matter was transferred to the Providence Magistrate’s Court for November 5.
