Grenade found attached to car in Republic Park

A Republic Park man discovered a “fragmentation grenade” attached to the undercarriage of his vehicle yesterday morning, police said.

At about 10.30 am yesterday, according to a police press release, Tarachandra Persaud of Republic Park, East Bank Demerara was driving his motor vehicle out of his residence when he heard an unusual sound coming from under the vehicle. On checking, police reported, the man observed a fragmentation grenade attached to the vehicle.

Persaud informed police who responded and removed the device. Investigations, police said, are ongoing.
