Man grazed by bullet below eye

A 27-year-old man was lucky to escape with his life after he was shot at by another man, who had blocked the road, forcing his vehicle to stop.

The bullet grazed Seymour Davis of Number 78 Village, Corentyne, below his left eye, the police said in a press release.

The incident occurred at about 3 am yesterday on the Queenstown Public Road, Corentyne.

Police said that investigations revealed that Davis and his girlfriend were in separate vehicles when a car with two men inside drove across and blocked their path.

One of the men came out of the vehicle and confronted Davis during which he pulled out a firearm and discharged a round which grazed Davis below his eye, the police stated.

The two men then escaped in their vehicle. Davis was taken to the Skeldon Hospital where he was treated and sent away, the police stated. Investigations are ongoing.
