Burglar gets one -year sentence

Carl Fraser was on Monday sentenced to a one year prison sentence after pleading guilty to breaking and entering another man’s house and stealing a DVD player along with a quantity of DVDs and CDs.

He delivered the plea to Magistrate Priya Beharry, admitting to breaking and entering Paul Young’s home and stealing the items, which totalled $41, 000 on August 15. The prosecution had informed the court that all the items mentioned were recovered.

“Is a long story but ah guilty,” stated Fraser when the magistrate had asked him why he stole the items. “Wahever decision yah have to mek at this present moment ah ask yah foh be lenient on me,” he later pleaded.

The prosecution then told the magistrate that Fraser had been charged and convicted twice for similar offences. Shortly after the magistrate had passed the sentencing, Fraser with a smile on face happily walked to the chute of the court saying to the magistrate, “Thank yah very much, have a pleasant day.”
