Former Prime Minister Hamilton Green is among the new members of the recently elected Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the main opposition People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR).

The party is yet to officially release the names of its new executive elected over the weekend at its 16th Biennial Congress, where incumbent Robert Corbin was re-elected leader amid claims of irregularities.

But Party Public Relations Officer Kim Chung yesterday released the names of the individuals elected to the CEC yesterday. In addition to new Chairman Cammie Ramsaroop and Vice-Chairpersons Basil Williams and Dr. George Norton, Clarence Charles has been elected to serve as treasurer, while Amna Ally, Florence Bourne, Oscar Clarke, Clement Corlette, Clarissa Riehl, Earnest Elliot and Aubrey Armstrong were re-elected to the CEC. The new members of the CEC are Green, Nasir Ally, Dr. Faith Harding, Carol Joseph, Volda Lawrence, Lurlene Nestor, Beni Rayman, and Morris Wilson.

Corbin won Saturday’s elections overwhelmingly, securing 614 votes to former Chairman Winston Murray’s 223 votes. Murray, the only challenger to Corbin, accepted the results and said even if they were flaws in the process and irregularities it was clear that Corbin would have won.

Meanwhile, Lance Carberry, who headed the Accreditation Committee for the Congress, told Stabroek News yesterday so far he has received no formal report about complaints about the process.

He said since none had come to him, any information suggesting that reports have surfaced are rumours. He admitted that during the voting on Saturday there was a little ruckus at the first round of voting but this was sorted out and all the other rounds were smooth.
