Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton granted a man and woman bail when they appeared before her on Wednesday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court for allegedly being caught with a utensil used to smoke cocaine.

Doreen Azeez of 185 Pike Street, Kitty and Donald Ramsammy of 55 David Street, Kitty, both pleaded not guilty to separate charges of possession of a utensil used to smoke cocaine.

The duo denied that they were found with an improvised glass pipe used in connection with smoking cocaine, on September 1 at Pike Street, Kitty.

Ramsammy stated that the arresting officers did not find the utensil on him but on the ground next to him. He noted that he worked in a shop that is located in the same yard where the utensil was found.

The magistrate subsequently granted the duo bail in the sum of $25,000 each and ordered that they return to court on January 12 next year.
