Guyana Embassy in China launches website

The Guyana Embassy in Beijing, China launched its official website www.guyanaembassybeijing.cn on Friday at a reception titled a ‘Guyanese Affair.’

According to a press release from the embassy the official launching of the site was followed by a brief presentation of Guyana’s Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) attended by officials from the China’s foreign ministry and other government officials.

Choo An Yin, Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy said this year the two countries are celebrating 37 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties.  She said the Embassy hopes the website could serve as a bridge to further promote understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

The website is available in both Chinese and English and has a wide range of information on Guyana’s history, tourism, trade, investment and culture as well as the LCDS. An executive summary of the LCDS is available on the website in the Chinese language and the entire document is currently being translated into Chinese.
