Geoff Da Silva is Honorary Consul to Portugal

Go-Invest CEO Geoffrey Da Silva was recently appointed Honorary Consul for Portugal in Guyana.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release Minister of Foreign Affairs Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett handed over the Exequatur to Da Silva at a ceremony hosted at her ministry.

Da Silva told GINA that he will use the opportunity to build stronger trade and investment relations with Portugal. He held the post of Minister of Trade, Tourism and Industry from December 1999 to March 2001 and was also Presidential Adviser on Governance at the Office of the President from November 1998 to November 1999.

Da Silva also served as Consul General in Toronto, Canada, School Community Adviser on the Toronto Board of Education and Supervisor with the Ontario Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations.
