Mail stolen from Kitty post office

A small quantity of local mail including bills from the Guyana Power and Light Company (GPL) were stolen from the Kitty Post Office some time Monday night.
In a press release issued yesterday the Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPO) said that the Kitty Post Office was broken and entered during Monday night. GPO, the release said, is doing everything in its power to maintain a level of security at the Kitty and other post offices.

Residents of Kitty and other areas serviced by the Kitty Post Office are advised to check with GPL is they do not receive their bills.
Meanwhile, a police source told Stabroek News that “nothing of great value” was taken from the post office and investigation are currently being conducted. More details of the incident are not known by this newspaper.
