Two teenaged boys, one charged with the murder of a man at Norton Street, Werk-en-Rust last Saturday and the other charged with aiding and abetting the murder, were both remanded to prison shortly after they appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Eighteen-year-old Al Wilson of Lot 34 Princes Street, Wortmanville was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge of murder.

And Seon Marshall, 19, of Lot 22 Norton and Hardina streets, was also not required to plead to the indictable charge of aiding and abetting another to commit murder.

The charges were read to the teens by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson who ordered that they be remanded to prison and transferred their cases to Court Five for October 20.

Marshall  told the court that “I wasn’t de boy wah include in de murder.”
However, it is alleged that on September 5, at Norton Street, Werk-en-Rust, Wilson murdered 21-year-old Jason Clarke.
It is also alleged that on the same day and place, Marshall aided and abetted Wilson to murder Clarke.
The prosecution stated that on the day in question Clarke had parked his bicycle in front of a shop that he had entered and  Wilson then approached the shop and sat on the bike, much to Clarke’s displeasure.

An argument soon ensued between the boys resulting in Clarke leaving but returning shortly after with a cutlass.
Clarke and Wilson soon got into a fight and it was during this that a group of boys including Marshall surrounded them.
Wilson then reportedly took out a knife and stabbed Clarke to the left side of his chest.

When he collapsed, the prosecution said, Marshall then took a piece of wood and dealt him several blows about his body.
Clarke was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he later succumbed to his wounds. One of the attackers was also said to have been injured.

According to reports, Clarke, an ex-police constable of Louisa Row, Werk-en-Rust, had been accused by a gang of boys, including Wilson and Marshall, of stealing a gold chain and this might have led to the confrontation which resulted in his death.
