Georgetown Rotarians present whodunit

On Wednesday, the Rotary Club of Georgetown presents a local whodunit for theatre lovers.

20090913rotariansIn Murder at Giuseppe’s several Rotarians take to the stage at the National Cultural Centre along with a number of seasoned actors. According to the plot, Giuseppe’s is an Italian restaurant in Georgetown whose owner is afraid to upset his landlord lest he lose his lease. The landlord is a gold miner leading a double life and all is revealed when he arrives to dine in the restaurant with his mistress and walks into his wife and mother-in-law. Tempers fly and in the aftermath someone is murdered.

The who, by whom, why and for what questions are answered on Wednesday night starting at 8 pm.

The play, described as a rib tickling comedy with lots of  twist and turns, stars Rotarians Laurie Lewis, Kit Nascimento, Derry Harry and Bernadette Yassin along with actors Derek Gomes, Nasim Hussain, Dimple Mendonca, Shameeza Hussain,  Priya Singh and Hashim Alli.

Music is by Francis Michael Bailey and the play is directed by Gem Madhoo-Nascimento.

Tickets inclusive of cocktails cost $2,000 and for the show only $1,000 and are available at the National Cultural Centre, Bhagwan’s (Water Street) and Shoppers Paradise (Regent Street).
