Vendor, two cops robbed

Police are investigating an incident which occurred on Sunday afternoon at the Plaisance Village Market, where a female vendor and two police officers were robbed.

The incident occurred at approximately 1 pm, when the trio was robbed by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

A release issued last evening by the police said that “Bibi Bacchus, of Ogle Front, ECD was tending to her stall, when a Police Inspector and Corporal approached her to make a purchase.”

According to the police, “the suspects confronted them with a gun and proceeded to rob them.  “Bacchus was robbed of $200,000 cash, jewellery and $10,000.00 worth of phone cards, while the Inspector and Corporal were robbed of two rings and a cellular phone respectively.”
The bandits then fled the market and escaped, the police said.
