Blood drive on at Venezuelan Institute tomorrow

The Guyana Venezuela Friendship Society, in partnership with the Venezuelan Embassy, will host a special Blood drive tomorrow to assist the National Blood Bank.

The drive will be held at the Venezuelan Institute located at 106 New Garden Street from 3.30 pm, a press release from the organization stated.

According to the Vice Chairperson of the Society Sharon Lambert, the purpose of the drive is to assist the National Blood Bank which experiences shortages from time to time.  She said that so far 24 persons have already promised to donate blood as part of the drive, but stated that the Society is urging other persons to come forward. Lambert said officials from the National Blood Bank will be present at the blood drive.
