Members of the Guyanese Women in Development (Guywid) group in Berbice recently donated a quantity of books and other items to benefit children to the Amerindian Hostel in New Amsterdam.

President of the group Eliska Sooknanan told Stabroek News that the donation is part of its annual roster of activities to reach out to persons of Amerindian ancestry. Guywid also wanted to celebrate Amerindian Heritage month with the children who reside at the Stanleytown hostel.
