Elderly man stabbed in chest during row

A 69-year-old man of Princes Street, Lodge was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital on Thursday with a stab wound to the left side of his chest following a misunderstanding with another male.

Stabroek News understands that the elderly man, Brian Beverley of Lot 69 Princes Street, Lodge was in the Bourda market area on Thursday afternoon when he was stabbed once to his left chest following an altercation with another man.

He was rushed to the Public Hospital and was subsequently admitted to the Male Surgical Ward of the medical institution.

His neighbours said the elderly man is a former soldier who rarely spent much time at the Princes Street address.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
