The Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development held a day of interaction with the Station Management Committees from Golden Grove, Beterverwagting and Enmore Police Station at the Golden Grove Police Station, East Bank Demerara on Monday.

The activity was held to ensure that the teams uphold the objectives and manage the stations in keeping with their Terms of Reference as it relates to the development and security of the various communities, a GINA release stated.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development Seewchan encouraged members to be committed and dedicated to tasks and responsibilities and noted that timely feedback and reporting must be practised while at the same time emphasizing discipline, honesty and integrity of the organisation must be upheld by members. Seewchan pointed out that violation or breach of the laws will be met with disciplinary action.

The Permanent Secretary who is also the chairman of the Golden Grove Station Management said that the purpose of the Police Station Officers Committee Members was to ensure that each person in their respective communities benefit from a peaceful and safe environment and he reiterated that teamwork is necessary for the committees to fulfil their objectives and minimise failure.

The day was marked with inter-committee dominoes competitions and a raffle drawing.
