President Bharrat Jagdeo has been invited to deliver a keynote address on Guyana’s Low-Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) at Trent University, Canada.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release the university’s Center of Knowledge in the Environ-ment invited Jagdeo to give the hour-long address which will be open to the public. The address is set for Wednesday at 5.30pm at the university’s Great Hall, Champlain Coll-ege and is titled “Guyana’s plan to preserve its tropical rainforest and help the world combat climate change.”

GINA said this invitation comes on the heels of engagements that Jagdeo has been attending during his trip to New York to attend the 64th United Nations (UN) General Assembly. The president also gave an address at the World Leadership Forum at Columbia University titled ‘What’s greener than a rainforest? Economic transformation and forest conservation in Guyana.’
