US Embassy hosts forum on political reporting

The US Embassy will host a public forum on political reporting on Thursday.

In a press release the Embassy said the forum, titled ‘Reporting under fire – experiences from the front line’ will be held at the Cara Lodge Hotel at 9.30am.

Media Advisor, lecturer and illustrious former US political reporter James Dickenson is expected to be the guest speaker. Dickenson was a political reporter, editor and columnist at the Wash-ington Post, the Washington Star, the National Observer and United Press Inter-national, who covered every presidential campaign from 1964 to 1988. He also covered the Senate and the House of Representatives and major political events in the US including the assassination of Robert F Kennedy, the Watergate scandal and the Vietnam War. More recently, Dickenson has been the coordinator and moderator of the Smithsonian Institute’s “The Smithsonian forum on the Media and Society.” He has also been an advisor to governments, businesses and ahs lectured around the world on political reporting.
