President’s College in fundraising drive

The President’s College Old Students Association (PCOSA) is kick-starting a fundraising campaign tomorrow to rehabilitate sections of the institution which are in a bad condition with an initial focus on the Home Economics Department.

PCOSA has planned a day of activities beginning from 10 am- 10pm involving games, a barbeque and an afternoon hang at the college campus at Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara.

The association will also celebrate the rich history of the school with a cultural programme organized by old students to end the day of activities.

PCOSA is encouraging the public to support the event as well as old students of the institution. A member of the planning committee told Stabroek News yesterday that the institution is in “dire need” and that they are hoping to raise a significant sum to upgrade the Home Economics Department “which has seen better days”.

Tickets for the event are $800 and are available at White Castle Fish Shop and old students of the college.
