Hope Secondary opening Tuesday

Minister of Education Shaik Baksh said the state-of-the-art Hope Secondary School will open on Tuesday.

According to a Government Information Agency press release Baksh said the furniture and water system have been installed though the school is still awaiting the installation of a transformer which has already been tested.

The school can accommodate 1000 pupils and the ministry expects about 800 students from the middle East Coast and Cove and John Primary who have just completed the National Grade Six Assessment.

Construction of the school started in 2007 and it had been delayed several times after the contractor defaulted.
