The body of Ray Boyle, a father of three, and of Pattensen, East Coast Demerara was discovered yesterday in the river. His body had been due to arrive in the city later yesterday, but up to press time, it had not and upset relatives said that they had not been told the whole story and were given conflicting reports by the camp’s owner.

Boyle’s sister-in-law, Lavern Thomas said that they had been told that Boyle was in a boat and it had capsized at about 9 am on Thursday and he was feared dead. She said that the area where the camp is located is close to Omai.  Boyle was the manager there. He had returned to the interior several days ago Thomas disclosed.

She said that they were told that the boat had turned over after hitting some rocks and he had disappeared in the waters. But given the conflicting reports that they have had from the camp owner, Thomas said that they are not really sure what exactly happened and they want answers. Boyle’s wife and children had migrated to the US just over a month ago.
The camp owner told relatives that he has notified the police, Thomas said.
