The Mayor and City Council has intensified its drainage programme in some sections of the city and plans to start a major desilting exercise in the Bourda ward soon.

In a press release the Council said it had started desilting canals along Cane View Avenue and Avenue of the Republic. “In another few days,” all alleyways in the Bourda area will be cleared of overgrowth and desilted.

In keeping with this citizens are asked to cooperate with the City Council workers. The works are estimated to cost $3.5M.
