Richmond woman robbed by gunmen

A Richmond, Essequibo Coast woman was on Monday evening robbed by armed bandits who took away $400,000 and escaped.

Police said in a statement that they are investigating the robbery which occurred at about 7:15pm on Monday at Richmond Housing Scheme. Vernee McPherson of Richmond was attacked and robbed by two men, who were armed with handguns.

Investigations revealed that McPherson was at home sitting on her verandah when the men entered the yard and held her at gunpoint. They then took away $400,000 cash and escaped, the police said.
