According to the police, the cause of death was undetermined.

Washington’s decomposing body was found around 1 pm on Monday among some bushes at Hauraruni. In addition to the clothes he was wearing when he was found, a pair of black leather shoes and a black tee shirt were found some distance away from his body. A .45 spent shell and a warhead were also found near to the body. Police did not make any mention of gunshot wounds in their release yesterday.

The taxi-driver left his Lot 105, South Vryheid’s Lust, East Coast Demerara home on October 24 to run an errand at a market in the city and was never seen or heard from again.

Following the discovery his girlfriend was held for questioning.
