Health Ministry to get mobile dental clinics

The Ministry of Health will soon acquire two mobile dental clinics following Cabinet’s no-objection to a $73.2M contract for their purchase, according to Cabinet Secretary Dr Roger Luncheon.

Dr Luncheon told the media yesterday at the Office of the President that Cabinet also did not object to the contract of $23.7M being awarded for the construction of teachers’ housing in Region Seven. And the Secretariat of Community Policing will be equipped with three pick-ups at the cost of $17.1M, since Cabinet also did not object to this. Meanwhile, Luncheon said that a section of the sea defence on the West Coast of Demerara will be built to the tune of $249.7M and an embankment would be constructed at Good Hope in Region Two to the tune of $87.1M as these contracts were also given the green light by Cabinet.

Two other contracts were also cleared for the purchase and supply of laboratory material for the pesticide board to the tune of US$255,000 and $8.5M.
