Teens stabbed in separate incidents

Parika man injured by gun trap

Two teens were stabbed in separate incidents late Satur-day and early yesterday while a 57-year-old man is nursing gunshot wounds after walking into a gun trap at Parika, East Bank Essequibo.

Pebble Sam, 16, of Ogle, East Coast Demerara was stabbed to his abdomen at around 11:30 pm on Saturday. The incident occurred at the Ogle Centre ground and reportedly was as a result of an argument. He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where he is a patient in the Intensive Care Unit.

Meantime, at about 3:45 am yesterday, Sherwin Joseph was stabbed in the left side of his back. An argument also reportedly led to the stabbing. The 16-year-old South Ruim-veldt resident is a patient in the male surgical ward of the GPH.

Also yesterday, Grend Bhagwandin, 57, of Parika was admitted to the hospital with a bullet wound to his leg. He was hunting on Saturday night when he walked into a gun trap. He was admitted to the male ward.
