Kenneth Vaughn, the security guard who was discovered dead at his Alexander Street and North Road workplace, died from bleeding and a fractured skull.

A post-mortem examination, police said in a press release, was performed on the body of Vaughn, a 65-year-old security guard, by Dr Nehaul Singh at the Georgetown Hospital Mortuary. The cause of death was given as brain haemorrhage and fractured skull.

The man was discovered in the compound of Le Premier Academy lying in a pool of his blood with the pockets of his pants ripped out and a piece of wood at his side.

Vaughn of Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, Georgetown reported for work at Le Premier Academy at about 7.45 pm on Saturday.

Police in a release Sunday afternoon said at about 6 am on Sunday the man’s body was found in the compound of the school. Lloyd Williams, who said he and the deceased were friends for over three decades, recalled that Vaughn usually had two cellular phones on him and both were missing. Williams further reported that shortly before his death Vaughn had been involved in a dispute with “some people” for his land. “De matter was in court,” Williams told Stabroek News, “and some time last week he [Vaughn] and the man had a `lil talking and the man run up he [Vaughn’s] steps with a cutlass… a report was made at the police station.”
