Anna Regina gets 38 modern street lights

Thirty-eight modern street lights have been installed in Anna Regina on the Essequibo Coast, Region Two, at a cost of $11 million, by the Ministry of Public Works and Communication, the Government Information Agency (GINA) reported.
Poles have been put in place to which 250-watt photocell automatic lights are attached.

The ministry is currently expediting installation of street lights in other areas and currently resources are being mobilized for the installation of 358 street lights to illuminate from Vreed-en-Hoop to Parika.

The installation of 70 street lights from the Demerara Harbour Bridge to Canal Number One Polder on the West Bank Demerara is nearing completion, GINA stated.

Meanwhile, during August the ministry installed 768 street lights on the East Bank Demerara from Providence to Timehri in the densely populated areas.
