A University of Guyana (UG) student was last evening shot and injured during a robbery at his Cummings Lodge home.

Nico McAdam, 18, was in his yard working on his laptop computer last evening, when two men reportedly approached him and attempted to take away the computer.

Stabroek News understands that there was an altercation between the men and McAdam during which he was shot in his shoulder. The men the n took away the computer and escaped. The incident occurred some time after 7 pm, this newspaper understands.

McAdam was subsequently rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, and is said to be in stable condition.
