Three stung after bees attack

Three persons were rushed to the Fort Wellington Hospital yesterday after they were attacked by a swarm of bees at Bel Air Village, West Coast Berbice around 8 am.

Eleven-year-old Anneka Williams, a student of the Hopetown Primary School was stung on her face and head and had to be kept at the institution for observation.

The two other persons, Ronald Forde, 23, a teacher at the Fort Wellington Secondary School along with another man from Bath Settlement were treated and sent away.

Reports are that the three were passing by a yard when the bees from a hive in an old truck in the yard were apparently disrupted started to attack them. Other persons managed to escape being stung.
