Guyanese turned out in their numbers last evening to be part of this year’s Main Big Lime.
After a relatively slow start, thousands of Guyanese thronged Main Street and the surrounding streets and avenues to be part of what has become an annual venture by the Ministry of Tourism.

Jewellery and craft stands such as this one belonging to Hardcore Arts & Craft were one of the common features at yesterday’s Main Big Lime, which saw a massive turnout for the now annual event. Vibert Griffith was very much part of yesterday’s Main Big Lime as he brought out his jewellery, plants and plastic toys to sell.

The event attracted the young and old, and as usual there were displays of craft, jewellery and plants.

However, it was the several sound systems and live bands that were playing which that proved to be the main source of entertainment, even as the drink and food bars clearly did good business.

The Main Big Lime was introduced several years ago and has now become one of the principal activities on the calendar of the Tourism Ministry.
