Sonia I think the comments you have made shows ignorance and a lack of respect to humanity. I live in London and could compare the standards here with those in Barbados but I won't as I appreciate the different standards goes with wealth & developement.
You said earlier that the jobs Guyanese do in Barbados are looked down upon by your country folks. Well let me educate you that every job in an economy is a vital part, without which an economy cannot fulfil its potential. So by your reconing labourers, street cleaners, catering workers are for illegal Guyanese!!! You should be grateful to those Guyanse for feeding and cleaning you!!!

I am presently residing in USA, I am happy to be here, but I have always said that the past and present government (PNC & PPP)have done all Guyanese a great disservice. That is to say Guyana is richly endowed was a vast array of natural resources, and yet guyanese have to run and seek to settle in LIL Barbados to be insulted and faced all manner of evil. Guyanes should have long band together and take back our country. We need real change in the management of Guyana. For too long we have allowed politicians to use all of us Africian, Indians and now the Ameridians for their narrow politicial gains. My advise is come 2011 let us work to change our political landscape at home by elected a government (natonal front ALL races. Please do not voted ace or we will see more of the same humilation from all people across the Caribbean.
Sonia you are a sad soul. I have met several Bajan in NY and sure they have said something totally different about Guyanese living there.

I am speaking for the intelligent and wise not the elementary level thinking people. maybe you are speaking for them?

I agree with this cartoon. Guyanese are willing to change their nasty habits in another country, why can't they do that in Guyana? Send the undesireables back to their home

It is sad that guyanese should have to leave their own home to live below substandard means in barbados. the govt of guyana is in a position to change the economy and re-direct its people back home. many bajans are angry with the way our country has become. We know that our standard of hygiene is much higher than most guyanese. you might not understand because you live in guyana. i am used to clean surroundings, houses looking emaculate etc. i once visited st. lucia and was totally depress because of how backward the country looked in comparison to barbados. we are not afraid of losing jobs either as the illegals can only access those jobs that are look down upon. when they leave, those persons who went to school and did not acquire certain certificates would continue to fill those jobs.

it is sad that the illegals would choose to be exploited rather than look for some other country that can absorb them, barbados is only so big. they can go to canada which is under populated or US but leave us alone. one of my friends was horrified when he recently went to guyana and was attending a business meeting. he saw the business men literally, after eating take the left overs and threw them through the window! that was horrible!
i am sorry for your conditions but stay where you are. as for me i make it my business not to even say anything to them and should i know of any illegals would not hesitate to call immigration. there is one illegal that i know of, a black guyanese who is being persuaded to apply for citizenship - i hope he gets it as he works hard at his jobs and is a man of character. he deserves much better. he was also a policeman in guyana so i hope he is successful in getting citizenship. those women who come here to get pregnant so to stay are extremely stupid. they still experience the same humiliation as the others. all in all we really do not welcome these people and would love to see them go. i hope it happens sooner rather than later. i for one intend to do my part. i am totally against anyone being a burden on our NIS etc.

Hello Jay, Your thoughts are most welcome. It is hoped that the conditions prevailing in Guyana be changed for the better. Guyana has been on a long descent and the people continue to flee . So very sad for a very big country with huge potential.

Harris...next time add for minibus drivers:
1. Keep shirts on backs.
2. Remove sticks, steel rods, pipes and other weapons from under seats.
3. Do not stop and greet people in the middle of streets with others waiting behind.
4. Do not race on the streets.
5. Drop the school girls home straight.

Street Vending:
1. Do not vend on the streets.
2. Do not remove bugs, braid or weave hair while selling.
3. Do not sit with your legs spreaded wide open in front of the general public.
4. Do not threaten to beat people up if they do not buy your merchandise.
5. Laugh for yourself...people 3 blocks away do not want to hear your joke.
6. Do not use the items you sell, such as clothing, and then put it back on the rack for sale.
7. Do not eat while attending to customers.

Wow,I don't even know what to say about this, not very funny though. It is obvious that the people of Guyana have a lot of work to do & hopefully they can do so without blame, corruption & a more secure country.

Hopefully all the overseas flags that I see here on Stabroeknews will help Guyanese in knowing how to build a better, modern society with the best ideals of democracy from around the world.
