Guyana is a Garbage Heap of corruption, illiteracy, hypocrisy, and apathy. There is no public support systems or services that anyone can count on for protection or help. The police force is infiltrated by imposters, collaborators, and gang-members. Guyana CANNOT be considered a sovereign nation. It is an ABANDONED BRITISH OUTPOST IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, helpless, suffering, ignorant of the world, and too down-trodden to do anything about its POOR LEADERSHIP.

The govt. is not interested in developing Guyana. Same can be said for past stewards. from the general outlook of conditions in Guyana, domestic violence is treated as another issue that plagues the nation. Unless the laws are enforced, domestic violence will continue. There is no law and order in Guyana, it is on autopilot . The law and decency are in the garbage. So sad that many mothers ,sisters are murdered on a daily basis and nothing tangible is done.

It's a joy to see Domestic violence being addressed in Guyana as a criminal offence or for the most part its’ great that is being brought to the attention of the Guyanese people.
I am not sure which Ministry this falls under however, it’s about time the Government of Guyana stand up for women's right and make it clear in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS is this sort of behavior acceptable.

I am sure there are lots of different reasons why men act out this way; regardless of the many social and physiological reasons, laws must be in place to charge these individuals and ensure the women are protect from retaliation.

I grew up in a home where my mother was abused by my father and thank God we are no longer in this environment. It’s sad because unfortunately my father’s out burse and violence behavior is a behavior he learnt from this father. So we have a behavior that is being learnt and pass on from one generation to the next.

How many more lives have to be ruined in order for the Government to view this as serious epidemic and pass the necessary laws? The other side of the coin is many of our Ministers and Law Enforcement Personnel are also abuse and violent in their homes. I do hope this moving picks up further momentum.

You guys should stop taking and do something. The best thing you can do is to strongly enforce the laws that protect women.
