Dear Editor,

With UG churning out so many attorneys-at-law what right do we have to employ lay magistrates/JPs?

Yours faithfully,

So that they can lay some eggs. How is the eggs supplies during the holiday seasons, Did we have enough for baking xmas cakes.
Just like me, why did you not lay out a plan for moving forward. Are we being over run with lawyers. How about other professions, like politicians. Do we need more teachers, police officers, soldiers, or parliamentarians.

We can appoint anyone form any qualified background to determine guilt or innocent. My grandfather who never had an education use to sit on jury. He can do the same

Too much lawyers, because crime is paying in Guyana. However, you can if you like employ them exactly as it says. Lay magistrates.Make them lay somewhere.Like helping out in the flood atreas by laying in a boat and bailing.By laying some stones for a groin(really, the correct name is a BREAKWATER),by collecting eggs from layers on a chicken farm to assist the flooded residents, or better yet lay some concrete blocks to build a shelter for flood victims and battered women.

Academic Ulric. If you went to college, you would know that aside from Business Management,Law is an easy major, and an easy desk job.

Caesar, this will be my last blog on the issue you saw fit to introduce, academics. I am sure that there are many bloggers, who are accomplished in many fields and who have gone to some very prestigeous Universities, and have NEVER seen it necessary to state it in their blogs, nor have they touted their accomplishments. I am happy that you went to college and that you educated yourself. Many of us have. So, get over it. Who cares? Just address issues and blog like most of us with nothing else to do during these cold winter months. ISNM

Ulric I agree with you. This guy Caesar is typical of many Guyanese I have had cause to meet in NY. The first thing they tell you is: I went to this or that college or I am working on Wall street. Very Juvenile. Can you imagine that he (Caesar) had the nerve to ask Hacket to prove a math problem, while we were all blogging about things happening in our country. He is still consumed by the “class system” that is so prevalent in Guyana and that is responsible for the social and enomic stagnation experienced by the citizens of our great country. I dont know what “ISNM” means but, “ISNMC”, I have given it my own meaning.

A positive attitude is a great force in any accomplishment. Not so to some who have closed minds. There are obviously a number of individuals, acting on impulse rather than wisdom, professing in terms that are still vague, huddling in oblivion, who think that what they write should be construed as a universal statement. However, it should be kept in mind that instead of languishing in this delusion,as many statements made are mere opinions, the important point that should be attended to, is to attack the issues raised. As simple as that.Variance from this only serves to inflame the imagination, and turn you aside from the path of grace. And where, believing that others collide with your inflexibility, you have simply “lost the path that does not stray.”(Dante).It is necessary to therefore ask yourself,”what is to be expected of my wisdom?” Finally,it is necessary to explain to yourself how ou can move beyond this.Point of note.Success is a journey, not a destination.

What are you saying? Disjuncted and incomprehensible. Ulric is right not to further respond to your blog. You never attacked the issues raised; you are more interested in telling blogers that you attended college and graduated from FIU. Speak to issues raised by bloggers, PLEASE.
